I cannot believe that approximately 30% of my fellow Americans have their respective heads 30% up their respective asses.
Oy.

Okay, I have no idea how to use this new program I downloaded while posting snow pictures on Photobucket.
We had a record snowstorm in Vermont. My college closed early, so b6 5:45 a.m., I knew I was facing a SNOW DAY. I embraced this with the excitement of a nine year old who doesn't have to go to school on the day of a test. Whooopeeee!
I made chocolate cupcakes. Weight Watchers, btw. Easy as ... um.. cupcakes. You take any cake mix. The one I chose just happened to be chocolate, but so far the best has been Spice Cake. I digress. Toss the cake mix in the bowl. Add one can (16oz) pumpkin. No, no the pie filling. The actual pumpkin. Mix this, adding water if it's too thick (which it will be, so get ready with some water... you'll need it). Plop this in the cupcake pan (spray w/something non-fat to keep from sticking). Follow guidelines on cake box for cooking cupcakes -- usually something like 20 minutes at 350. Anyway, these are moist and yummy (like I said, the Spice Cake ones.. melt in your mouth). AND... only 1 point per cupcake/muffin. Cool, huh?
Meanwhile, my SNOW DAY progressed. I stayed in my fleece jammies all day. Played music and danced. Turn on the Harry Potter Film Festival, but didn't really stick around to watch. Love the music in the background. Sewed. Surfed the net. Didn't play video games (surprise). Did a huge load of towels. Ate all the cinnamon red hots (wow... points, huh?) but I still had a gift for my valentine unopened (gourmet chocolate licorice). Ended up with hot dogs on buns for dinner. Almost like a picnic, huh? Great day. Very low key and fun, fun, fun. (my kind of fun)
Here are some pictures from the storm (well, these are the next day... but you get the idea)...
That's my dear husband (dh?) on the roof of our porch. I'm taking the picture thru the 2nd story window. He LOVES going on the roof for just about any reason. Shovelling? He gets thoroughly into it, even if NOBODY is going to walk up those front steps for the next three months. I think he's creating work. But then... I've been known to shun work. Yes, I shun work. So there.
In fact...here's my messy workspace -- my studio -- where I shun work as a general practice.
Well, one more work day and I'm off for a whole week.
Love being a college professor. This one is Winter Break. Standby for Spring Break... um...that's in the Spring.... soon though. Way soon.
